Northern Kentucky University Visitor Center
Location: Highland Heights, KY
Architect: Omni Architects
General Contractor: Huseman Group
The Northern Kentucky University Visitor Center was designed to create a memorable first impression, beginning with a bold architectural facade that seamlessly extends into the building’s interior. SHApe fabricated the custom Fundermax® High Pressure Laminate (HPL) panel system, helping bring that continuous design vision to life.
Fabricated in Saffron Yellow, the 8mm Fundermax HPL panels were manufactured for an open-joint, exposed-fastener system, where panel alignment, joint consistency, and precise detailing are integral to the architectural expression. The vibrant facade welcomes visitors at the entrance, then carries the same material palette and design language into the interior, creating a cohesive experience throughout the building.
The clean lines, consistent shadow joints, and uninterrupted transition between exterior and interior demonstrate how precision fabrication can strengthen an architect’s design intent while delivering a durable, high-performance cladding system.
